Deep Thoughts

I have very few memories from 1st-4th grade, I can however remember these random things from my eaarly childhood:

Exactly where I was and who I was with when I ate my first Pop Tart

My first visit to Chuck-E-Cheeses

My favorite Books:
Bugs Bunny and the Carrot Machine
A Monster at the End of This Book
Sylvester and the Magic Pebble

The Gingerbread Man escaping from the oven on my first day of Pre-School

Anyone have any random memories?

My preschool teacher was from the south and she pronounced school as "skoo."

For my third birthday, my cake had a snoopy on it and my mom made me a pink and white bathrobe with matching pajamas.

Ginny Hoppy threw up all over my leg in 2nd grade. She had tuna for lunch.

I bit my bff in preschool because she wouldn't share her train. I drew blood. She had to get a tetanus shot.

I loved puppet time in Kindergarten...especially the whale puppet.

In 1st grade, my mom put a WHOLE Hershey's bar in my lunch box cause I had a test that day. She wrote a note on it that said "I love you."

In 3rd grade, I moved to KY. I was a minority in my class. I was always bullied by LaShonda. She hated me.

In 4th grade, I moved back to TN., and had the BEST teacher ever - Mrs. Johnson. Our class had a porcelain bathtub with pillows in it that we could read books in when we were done with our work. We had a rocking chair too (But that wasn't as cool as the tub.) She gave us candy as rewards. And when we had to go to school on Saturdays, and through Spring Break because we missed so much school because of snow that year....she let us bring our sleeping bags and we had hot chocolate in class.

Running like a crazy child through a parking lot at a 4th of July Fireworks display. (I was four or five) and was convinced the driver of the car was trying to kill me. (I think he was having fun with this hysterical little boy.)

Shooting iodine into my teddy bear with a hypodermic needle I found in a trash can. (I was 6 or 7) The bear was never the same...but it's thyroid gland was in great shape.

Sitting in a rocking chair after my folks went to bed, staring at the lights on the Christmas tree, wondering what I'd be when I grew up. (I did this every year, actually.)

Laying in the back yard on a summer's night, watching the clouds in the moonlight.

Don - What's with your parents letting you run amuck in a parking lot and digging in the trash for needles? Why was there iodine in a needle?

Umm...lots of memories to think of.

I picked up my neighbors kitty and put it in the basket of my new pink bike when I was 4. The kitty spewed diarrhea all over it. Ruined the basket and traumitized my mind forever. I can still see and smell it.

I loved and adored my 1st grade teacher. Her breath was always sweet and I remember telling my mom that she had nice smelling breath. A year later she was canned for being drunk on the job.

When I was in 3rd grade I pretended to be sick and got to stay home. When my mom left for work I snuck down to the corner store to buy a bag of Reese's Pieces. Pretty bold knowing that we lived in a town of 956 where everyone knew everyone else's businss.

So much more to tell...so little time!

I was scared of the fireworks so I tried to run back to our car--parents were behind me. Then this jalopy of a car approached and my paranoia took over.

I have no idea where the hypodermic needle came from...that was back in the day doctors made house calls. He probably came and gave my sister a shot or something.

dead serious here...
I'm in my crib looking at the shadow the moonlight cast upon the wall next to me. I'm both frustrated and fascinated by the black figure (my shadow) on the wall that is matching my every move.
